Headaches on the horizon

Virginia Beltway
Lane closings that had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights as part of the HOT lanes and Dulles Metrorail projects have been canceled because of the weather. However, there will be lane closings Friday night for repairs stemming from a Friday afternoon accident.

The Virginia Department of Transportation plans to remove a sign structure over the outer loop (I-495 south) near Chain Bridge Road (Route 123). At 11 p.m., two Beltway lanes in each direction will close while the sign is removed. After midnight, watch for full closures of the outer loop for up to 30 minutes.
