I-270 bridge update

Question from Monday's online chat:
Can you find out when the bridge project on 270 north of 121 will be finished? Is it me, or have they been doing this for five years? AAAAAUUUUGHGHGHG!

I said I didn't know, but David Buck, spokesman for the Maryland State Highway Administration, spotted the question and had the answer:

Construction on the I-270 bridge over Dr. Perry Road in Frederick County began early in 2009 -- a bit short of five years. Traffic shifted on Sept. 23 to accommodate the project. The same number of through lanes on I-270 have remained throughout the project, which is scheduled for completion in late spring, Buck said.

He also noted that there's a bridge project on MD Route 109 over Little Bennett Creek, which is near I-270, but has no effect on I-270 traffic. That one is wrapping up in the next two weeks, Buck said.
