MARC Brunswick Line delays

Here's a roundup of traffic issues facing commuters this morning:

9:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Fire and emergency activity on Rock Creek Parkway and Potomac Parkway -- be wary of delays.

-- Also fire and emergency activity on the 1300 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest, so be wary there and avoid it if you can.

-- The 3500 block of 12th Street in Northeast is also seeing fire and emergency activity and this could be troublesome for a while, so avoid that too.

-- An accident on I-95 South at Richmond Highway/U.S. 1 has closed the right shoulder.

8:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic is still backed up on I-66 East leading to the Beltway, but not as badly as earlier this morning.

-- I-395 North still has traffic, but again, it's a bit lighter.

-- On the 700 block of North Capitol Street in Northwest, police and fire activity could make traffic tricky.

8:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The disabled car in the 2200 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast is still blocking a lane.

-- The I-495/Outer Loop off-ramp at River Road has reopened.

-- Congestion on I-66 East at Beltway, I-395 North at 14th Street Bridge, as usual.

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Beltway at Telegraph Road has closed the right shoulder.

-- I-495 North is still backed up starting at I-66.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled car on Suitland Parkway at Stanton Road in Southeast has blocked the right eastbound lane.

-- Police and fire activity on the 4200 block of Cathedral Avenue in Northwest, so avoid that area.

-- A disabled car on the 2200 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast is blocking a lane, so that area will be slow.

-- I-495 North is very backed up leading to Arlington Boulevard.

-- A disabled car is blocking the right off-ramp lane on I-495/Outer Loop at River Road.

7:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Both the I-270 North and I-95/Outer Loop incidents in Maryland have cleared up.

-- Traffic on I-395 North, as usual. At the 14th Street Bridge, at Seminary Road, at random hiccups along the way.

-- There's a disabled vehicle on I-395 North shortly after the Springfield Interchange that is still closing the right lane.

-- Traffic on I-66 East gets bad leading up to Nutley Street.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-270 North before MD 109 might slow down northbound traffic.

-- There's also an accident on I-95/Outer Loop at MD 450.

7 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An update for those MARC Brunswick Line delays: Signals have been restored near Rockville, the Maryland Transit Administration reports. Train 870 is running 22 minutes late, train 890 is running 10 minutes late and train 874 left Brunswick 12 minutes late.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North right after the Springfield Interchange has closed the right lane.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-66 East in Rosslyn is on the right shoulder right before the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge.

6:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-270 South at Tuckerman Lane involving one car has closed one southbound lane.

-- There's debris in the road on U.S. 50 East at U.S. 301/MD 3, but no lane closures reported.

--An accident on I-95 South/the Beltway at Clermont Avenue (shortly after Van Dorn Street) has closed the right shoulder and might slow down traffic.

-- Traffic is already building very early on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road, where it's backed up for a few miles.

-- On I-495 North at the Georgetown Pike, a disabled vehicle is on the shoulder but still worth noting.

-- An accident involving four cars on 295 North at Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast might cause some delays.

-- A disabled car on South Dakota Avenue at Bladensburg Road in Northeast is blocking part of the northbound roadway.

6 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Orange Line delays have cleared up.

-- The lane closures on I-495 at I-270 have also been reopened.

ORIGINAL POST:

-- Delays on the Orange Line: Trains are sharing the same track between the West Falls Church and Vienna stations due to emergency track maintenance. There are delays in both directions.

-- An accident on I-495/Outer Loop at I-270 has closed two of the four Outer Loop lanes and one of the shoulders.

-- MARC Brunswick Line train 876 will be running one car short this morning.

-- Additionally on the MARC Brunswick Line -- there is a signal problem that will cause delays on all trains this morning. The delays could be 20 to 30 minutes and will begin from Rockville heading into Washington.
