I-495 North, I-395 North delays

Happy Tuesday, commuters. Here's a roundup of the issues facing drivers and riders around the Washington region. Weather likely won't be a huge issue; some clouds and rain showers are expected today.

9:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on Virginia Avenue and D Street in Northwest is blocking the third lane from the left on Virginia Avenue (the left two lanes are open).

-- An accident in the 2400 block of Naylor Road in Southeast might slow traffic in the area.

-- The right shoulder on I-95 North at Telegraph Road remains closed due to the earlier accident, causing some delays.

-- Two of the four outer loop lanes are closed on I-495 Outer Loop from MD 355 to the American Legion Bridge for emergency roadwork repairing potholes.

8:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Police and fire activity in the 2100 block of MLK Avenue in Southeast will impact traffic, so be wary.

-- An accident on I-95 North/the Beltway at Telegraph Road has closed the north right shoulder and is slowing down traffic in the vicinity.

-- Traffic on I-495 North is still pretty bad at I-66.

8:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on 3rd Street and Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast is blocking the eastbound left lane of Rhode Island Avenue.

-- An accident on the Douglass Bridge is going to cause delays, so be advised it might slow your commute if you take it.

-- Police and fire activity on the 4000 block of Benning Road in Northeast has blocked the second lane from the left on Benning heading north.

-- Police and fire activity in the 1300 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast.

-- There's an accident on 6th Street and Constitution Avenue in Northwest.

-- Traffic is backed up on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge, as well as on I-495 North at I-66.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident at 15th and C streets in Northeast.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-395 North a bit before the 14th Street Bridge has been moved to the shoulder; the right lane has reopened.

-- There are still delays on I-395 North at Seminary and Edsall roads, as well as the 14th Street Bridge.

-- Traffic is getting heavy on I-495 North at I-66.

-- There's also still heavy traffic on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-395 North shortly before the 14th Street Bridge has closed the right lane and right shoulder.

-- Traffic is building steadily on I-495 South at Gallows Road.

-- There's also congestion on I-395 North from Seminary Road on back.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Lanes have reopened on MD 355 South.

-- The lane closures remain in effect on I-495 South and I-395 North.

-- Traffic remains heavy on I-66 East.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on MD 355 South at King Farm Boulevard has closed one southbound lane and one of the shoulders.

-- A disabled vehicle has closed the right shoulder of I-395 North at King Street.

6:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's heavy traffic building on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.
