Red Line delays
The roads are wet and it's brisk out there. Not a great combination for folks heading out during the morning rush hour. Here are some of the big commuting issues afoot this morning.
9:45 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Red Line delays continue towards Glenmont.
8:55 A.M. UPDATE:
-- There are delays on the Red Line heading towards Glenmont due to a track circuit malfunction at Takoma.
-- Traffic has eased a bit on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge.
-- Traffic has gotten worse, if possible, on I-495 North at I-66.
8:25 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Traffic has eased up a bit on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge. It's still congested, but not as congested as earlier.
-- I-495 North is still very congested leading to I-66.
8 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Traffic is heavily backed up on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge.
-- There's also heavy traffic on I-495 North at Arlington Boulevard.
-- An accident on I-395 North at Seminary Road is still blocking the right shoulder.
-- The right lane of I-495 North at Route 7/Leesburg Pike has reopened.
7:35 A.M. UPDATE:
-- A disabled vehicle is blocking the right lane of I-495 North at Route 7/Leesburg Pike.
-- On I-395 North at Seminary Road, an accident is blocking the right shoulder.
-- Traffic is pretty bad on I-66 East at Nutley Street.
7:05 A.M. UPDATE:
-- On I-495 North, there's heavy traffic leading to Gallows Road.
-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 South near the Springfield Interchange is blocking the south right shoulder and could cause delays.
6:40 A.M. UPDATE:
-- There's congestion in the usual spots this morning: Traffic is backed up on I-66 at Chain Bridge Road, on I-395 North at King Street and on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge.
-- U.S. 301 lanes have reopened, as has the lane on I-270 South.
6:15 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Penn Line trains 407, 406, 417 and 513 will all be operating one car short today.
-- A disabled vehicle on I-270 South at Shady Grove Road is blocking one of the southbound local lanes.
-- The U.S. 301 lanes remain closed.
ORIGINAL POST:
-- A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. 301 South at McKendree Road has closed two of the southbound lanes and one southbound shoulder.
-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 South at I-66 is blocking the right southbound shoulder and could cause delays.
