I-95 North slow at Interchange
Here's a roundup of traffic issues facing commuters this morning...
8:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Fire and emergency personnel are on Massachusetts Avenue in the vicinity of Union Station, so be wary of delays if you are driving around there.
-- There's also fire and emergency activity on the 800 block of Potomac Avenue in Southeast.
-- Congestion continues on I-66 East, I-395 North and I-95 North leading up to the Springfield Interchange.
8:20 A.M. UPDATE:
-- A disabled car is blocking the right off-ramp from U.S. 50 east at Martin Luther King Jr. Highway/MD 704.
-- Fire and emergency activity on the 1300 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Southeast, so avoid that area.
-- A disabled car on I-395 North at Glebe Road could mean delays on the already-sluggish roadway.
-- Traffic is backed up on I-66 West at Sycamore Street.
-- There's still big congestion on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange and on I-66 East leading to the Beltway.
7:55 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Traffic is still very backed up on I-95 North at the Springfield Interchange.
-- Still backed up in I-66 East and I-395 North, too.
7:30 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The 6100 block of 16th Street in Northwest still might be tricky.
-- On I-66 East at Nutley Street, backups begin and don't end for several miles.
-- An accident on I-495 North at the G.W. Parkway has closed the right shoulder and could cause some delays in that area.
-- I-395 North is still seeing delays.
7:10 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-95 North shortly before the Springfield Interchange is problematic -- an accident closed the right lane, and traffic is fairly congested.
-- The 6100 block of 16th Street in Northwest has police activity and it might be best to avoid it right now.
-- Another I-395 South accident at Duke Street. The right lane and right shoulder are closed.
-- There are also delays on I-395 North, on and off, much of the way from the Springfield Interchange to the 14th Street Bridge.
-- A multi-vehicle accident on I-66 East before the Beltway has closed the right shoulder, be wary of delays.
-- An accident on I-495 North at the Little River Turnpike has closed the right shoulder, but expect some delays.
6:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Fire and emergency activity on the 600 block of T Street in Northeast could cause delays and backups.
-- Traffic on I-66 East is backed up for several miles from Chain Bridge Road.
-- There's also an accident on I-66 East shortly before the Beltway, causing the right shoulder to be closed.
-- On I-395 South at Duke Street, the right shoulder is closed from the earlier accident.
6:25 A.M. UPDATE:
-- MARC Penn Line train 405 is delayed 24 minutes due to mechanical issues. It will skip the West Baltimore and Halethorpe stations. Train 407 will be running on time.
-- On I-395 South at Duke Street, an accident might close some lanes and cause delays.
-- Traffic is already backed up on I-395 North on and off from Seminary Road.
6:10 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Fire and emergency activity in the 1300 block of New York Avenue in Northeast might cause lane closures and delays, so try to avoid it.
-- Congestion on I-66 East near Chain Bridge Road is causing backups.
