Orange Line delays
The rain has stopped, but that doesn't mean your commute is going to get easier. There's a dense fog advisory for this area until 9 a.m. Here's a look at some traffic issues facing commuters this morning:
8:40 A.M. UPDATE:
The malfunction at West Falls Church has been resolved, but Orange Line delays remain in both directions.
8:35 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The Orange Line is single-tracking between the East Falls Church and Vienna stations due to a train malfunction at the West Falls Church station. There are delays in both directions.
-- The U.S. 50 westbound right off-ramp is still closed at I-95.
-- An accident on I-495/Outer Loop before Georgia Avenue might slow Beltway traffic in that area.
8:15 A.M. UPDATE:
-- VRE Train 306 is arriving in the District a few minutes late.
-- No more delays on I-495/Outer Loop at Georgia Avenue.
-- The U.S. 50 West off-ramp is still blocked.
-- I-395 North is packed and slow before the 14th Street Bridge. It's also jammed at Duke Street.
-- The same delays exist on I-495 North at I-66 and I-95 North in Lorton.
7:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- A disabled vehicle on I-495/Outer Loop before Georgia Avenue might cause some delays.
-- The accident on U.S. 50 West is still blocking one of the westbound right off-ramps.
-- And there's still congestion on I-495 North at I-66 and I-95 North in Lorton.
7:30 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Georgia Avenue has reopened at the Beltway.
-- The accident on U.S. 50 West is now blocking one of the westbound right off-ramps.
-- I-495 North is very, very congested heading towards I-66.
7:15 A.M. UPDATE:
-- A vehicle fire has shut down all lanes of Georgia Avenue/MD 97 South at the Beltway.
-- An accident on U.S. 50 West at I-95 in Prince George's County is blocking the two westbound right off-ramps.
MD 97 SOUTH AT CAPITAL BELTWAY
6:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-395 North is getting congested at Duke Street.
-- I-95 North is still slow in Lorton.
-- Traffic is building on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.
-- On I-95 North/the Beltway at Telegraph Road, the north right shoulder is blocked by a disabled vehicle. This could cause some delays.
6:30 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-95 North is congested leading up to Lorton Road.
-- The MD 295 South lanes have reopened at Annapolis Road.
ORIGINAL POST:
-- An accident on MD 295 South at Annapolis Road in Prince George's County might slow southbound traffic. One southbound lane and the southbound right on-ramp are blocked.
