395 slow heading north

Here's a look at some of the traffic headaches facing commuters this morning:

8:55 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-95/Outer Loop at Pennsylvania Avenue is blocking one of the Outer Loop shoulders.

-- An accident on MD 197/Collington Road heading north at U.S. 50 is blocking two northbound lanes.

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The tractor trailer accident on the Beltway ramp to I-66 has been cleared. But I-495 North remains very slow leading to I-66.

-- I-395 North also remains sluggish at various points from the Beltway to the 14th Street Bridge.

-- The accident on U.S. 50 West has been cleared.

-- An accident on I-95/Outer Loop at Pennsylvania Avenue might slow Outer Loop traffic.

8:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The I-270 South shoulder has reopened.

-- An accident on U.S. 50 West at Enterprise Road is blocking three of four westbound lanes.

-- Update on the tractor trailer accident on I-495 South at I-66 -- the left lane of the ramp to I-66 West is blocked.

-- There's bad congestion on I-495 North at I-66 and throughout much of I-395 North.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The disabled vehicle on I-95 South before MD 212 has been cleared.

-- The I-270 South accident at MD 118 is blocking one of the southbound shoulders.

-- A tractor trailer accident on I-495 South at I-66 is blocking the southbound exit ramp, but traffic can still pass on the right shoulder.

-- Traffic is very slow on I-66 East at Nutley Street.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's a disabled vehicle on I-95 South before MD 212.

-- An accident on I-270 South at MD 118 could slow southbound traffic.

-- I-395 North is still a mess at 14th Street Bridge and, on and off, the rest of the way back to the Springfield Interchange.

-- I-495 North is congested at I-66.

-- An accident is now blocking the left shoulder of the ramp from the G.W. Parkway to I-495 North.

6:55 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road is even more backed up.

-- There's also congestion on I-495 North at Gallows Road.

-- The accident on I-95/Inner Loop has been cleared.

-- An accident is blocking the right shoulder of the ramp from the G.W. Parkway to I-495 North.

6:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There was an accident on I-95/Inner Loop at I-295 in Prince George's County. Inner Loop traffic could be slowed.

-- A disabled vehicle is blocking the right shoulder of I-395 South at Duke Street.

-- Traffic is very slow on I-395 North from Duke Street back to the Springfield Interchange.

-- A disabled vehicle is blocking the left shoulder of I-495 South at the Dulles Toll Road.

-- I-95 North is slow leading to the Springfield Interchange as well.

ORIGINAL POST:

-- I-66 East is jammed up at Chain Bridge Road.

-- I-95 North is very congested before you get to Lorton.

-- There's also congestion on I-395 North after Glebe Road.

-- And I-395 North is also congested after Duke Street.

Was something going on with one of the roads leading to Chain Bridge (in VA?) There was absolutely zero traffic heading down Glebe (via Military) to the bridge. None. I know Dr Gridlock mentioned they changed the timing (or were going to), but I wouldn't expect this to happen.
