E. Lynn Hampton has been appointed interim president and chief executive of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, replacing outgoing Chief Executive James E. Bennett, authority officials announced Tuesday.
Hampton has been the authority's vice president for finance and chief financial officer since 1989. Her appointment is effective May 9.
Bennett will take a position as chief executive of the Abu Dhabi Airports Co., a public joint-stock company owned by the Abu Dhabi government and created in 2006 to spearhead expansion of airports in the United Arab Emirates.
