Lanes reopen on SE/SW Freeway
5:50 p.m. Update: DDOT officials say all lanes have reopened.
5:16 p.m. Update: Traffic cameras show traffic backed up to at least
the Pentagon.
4:50 p.m. Update: DDOT officials say there hasn't been any change yet in the traffic situation. Delays continue in both directions. Traffic cameras show that it's a slog in both directions, although eastbound lanes show heavier traffic.
4;20 p.m. Update: Traffic cameras show traffic building in both dirtections. Use an alternate route or delay your departure.
Original post: An accident on the Southeast/Southwest Freeway near Sixth Street SW is predicted to cause substantial delays during the p.m. commute, according to D.C. Fire/EMS officials.
The accident, which involves a trailer carrying a boat, has caused the closure of two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane.
