Major Green Line delays

Here's a roundup of this morning's headaches facing commuters.

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Green Line is still delayed.

-- The I-495/Outer Loop accident has been cleared.

-- The Glebe Road lanes remain closed.

-- I-395 North is jammed up at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- I-66 East is slow at the Beltway.

8:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Green Line is still seeing big delays.

-- An accident on I-495/Outer Loop before the Rockville Pike could cause delays for Outer Loop travelers.

-- I-395 North is backed up leading to the 14th Street Bridge.

-- And the Glebe Road lanes remain closed. (Once again, it's the northbound left and right lanes and the southbound left lane.)

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The three lanes remain closed on Glebe Road at 8th Street in Arlington.

-- i-66 East is backed up leading to the Beltway, and I-495 North is backed up leading to I-66.

7:25 A.M. UPDATE:

Due to the Glebe Road lane closures, ART 41 is going to take a detour and miss two stops. Delays are expected until 8:30 a.m. The accident on South Glebe Road at 8th Street South (here) is right near the Glebe Road and Columbia Pike intersection.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495 North at Gallows Road is causing backups.

-- The Glebe Road lanes remain closed from earlier this morning.

-- I-395 North is congested at Duke Street.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- More on the Green Line delays: There will be major delays this morning because of the track equipment that developed a mechanical problem at 4:30 a.m. near the West Hyattsville station, according to Metro. Trains will be sharing one track between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza until the piece of equipment can be moved.

Delays of 30 minutes or more should be expected. Metro expects them to last through the morning rush hour and into the early afternoon.

-- The lanes remain closed on Glebe Road.

-- The accident on I-95 South at MD 198 has been cleared.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Green Line delays continue in both directions. Trains are sharing the same track between the Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza stations because of a failed piece of track equipment, according to Metro.

-- On Glebe Road in Arlington, the north left and right lanes remain closed. The southbound left lane is also closed.

-- An accident on I-95 South at MD 198 in Prince George's County could slow southbound traffic.

ORIGINAL POST:

-- This morning's Metro delay: The Green Line has delays in both direction due to trains sharing the same track between the Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza stations. This is due to emergency track maintenance around the West Hyattsville station, which is bookended by those two stations.

-- An accident on South Glebe Road at 8th Street South in Arlington is blocking the north left and right lane.
