Headaches on the horizon
Route 123, Tysons
The northbound lanes of Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) will remain closed at International Drive during Tuesday night's rush period. A detour is in effect while utility crews repair a ruptured water main. The lanes should reopen later Tuesday. See a map (pdf).
11th Street Bridge
Watch for off-peak lane closings this week on the inbound bridge and adjacent portions of D.C. 295/Interstate 295. From 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, closings may include one lane and the shoulder in each direction of D.C. 295/I-295 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Howard Road.
Beltway ramp work
The Wilson Bridge project is finishing this week overnight demolition of the old ramp from the Capital Beltway outer loop (Interstate 95/495 north) to Telegraph Road north. Additional closings also are scheduled throughout the Telegraph Road interchange to prepare for a weekend traffic switch on the outer loop.
There will be some overnight lane closings for safety while contractors remove girders and saw and lift portions of the remaining ramp.
