Outer Loop lanes reopen

Here's a look at the issues and headaches facing commuters this morning:

9 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-95/Outer Loop at MD 202 is now just blocking one of the shoulders.

-- There's a disabled vehicle on the 1400 block of Alabama Avenue in Southeast, so expect delays if you're in that area.

-- There's police and fire activity at the intersection of 15th and Eye streets in Northwest, so expect delays.

-- I-395 North (at the 14th Street Bridge) and I-495 North (at Route 123) remain slow.

-- The Dulles Toll Road is slow heading eastbound in Herndon.

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A tractor trailer accident is blocking the right lane of I-495 North at Braddock Road.

-- The accident on I-95/Outer Loop at MD 202 is blocking two Outer Loop lanes and one of the shoulders.

-- An accident on MD 124 South at Rickenbacker Drive in Gaithersburg has closed one of the shoulders heading northbound and one of the southbound shoulders as well.

-- The flashing traffic signals have been resolved.

-- There's fire and emergency activity on the 1000 block of 19th Street in Northwest, so expect potential delays.

8:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95/Outer Loop at MD 202 is blocking one of the Outer Loop lanes.

-- Traffic is snarled on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- There's also bad congestion on I-495 North at I-66.

-- These traffic signals are flashing in the District, according to the District's Department of Transportation:
- 13th and Gallitan streets NW
- 14th Street and Colorado Avenue NW
- 14th and Gallitan streets NW
- 14th and Kennedy streets NW
- 16th and Decatur streets NW
- Harewood Road and Taylor Street NW

7:50 A.M. UPDATE:

MARC Brunswick Line train 874 has left Silver Spring. It's running about 30 minutes late, so it should arrive just before 8 a.m.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

MARC Brunswick Line train 874 has stopped at Silver Spring due to a medical emergency. The train is normally scheduled to arrived at Union Station by 7:28 a.m.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 North at Leesburg Pike is going to cause delays.

-- I-495 North is already backed up at Gallows Road and on much of the swing through Virginia.

-- The on-ramp to MD 118 West has reopened.

-- Planning on an international flight today? Volcanic ash in Europe might cause a few problems. More information here.

6:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle is blocking the westbound right on-ramp to MD 118 West at I-270 South.

-- I-495 North has delays at Gallows Road.

-- I-95 North is pretty backed up before the Springfield Interchange.

6:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- All of the Inner Loop lanes have reopened at River Road. One of the shoulders remains closed.

-- MARC Brunswick Line trains are running between 8 and 10 minutes late from the Point of Rocks station to the Washington station due to speed restrictions.

6:10 A.M. UPDATE:

One of the four Inner Loop lanes have reopened south of River Road. So three of four Beltway lanes remain closed south of River Road.

The accident was relatively minor, according to the Maryland State Police. They are on the scene and say that two cars were involved and that it was a hit and run. One person is being transported to the hospital with minor injuries. And they expect the lanes to be reopened very soon.

-- An accident on I-495/Inner Loop to the south of River Road is blocking all inner loop lanes right now.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North is blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

What is going on Glebe Rd leading to chain bridge?!?!?!
