I-495 North, I-66 East slow

Here's a roundup of the traffic issues facing commuters this morning:

8:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495 South at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right shoulder.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North between U.S. 1 and the G.W. Parkway is blocking the right shoulder.

-- The right shoulder remains blocked on I-95 North/the Beltway at Clermont Avenue.

8:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Red Line delays have been cleared up.

-- I-66 West is congested at Sycamore Street.

-- An accident on I-95 North/the Beltway at Clermont Avenue is blocking the right shoulder.

-- Delays remain on I-495 North at I-66 and on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

Some airports in Europe have reopened. More information here.

7:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Red Line is delayed heading towards Glenmont due to a train malfunction at the Woodley Park station. The malfunction has been resolved, but delays remain.

-- Bad congestion on I-395 North at several spots, including the 14th Street Bridge and Duke Street.

-- The I-95 North lane at Telegraph Road has reopened, but delays remain.

-- Delays also remain on I-495 North at I-66 and I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

7:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on U.S. 50 West before Kenilworth Avenue could slow down westbound traffic.

-- An accident on I-95 North/the Beltway at Telegraph Road is blocking the left shoulder.

-- There's bad congestion on I-495 North at Gallows Road.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- VRE trains 300 and 324 are still delayed, but have entered the District. Train 300 is approaching Union Station now, while train 324 has just crossed into the District.

-- There's congestion on I-395 North at the 14th Street Bridge, Glebe Road, King Street and Duke Street -- basically, the whole stretch.

-- Traffic is even worse on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- VRE trains 300 and 324 are delayed in Alexandria due to EMS activity, according to VRE's map.

-- The lanes on University Boulevard at Colesville Road have reopened.

-- Traffic is getting heavier on I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on University Boulevard/MD 193 West at Colesville Road is blocking two westbound lanes.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 South is blocking the right shoulder.

-- Congestion is starting to build up on I-395 North at Duke Street and I-66 East at Chain Bridge Road.

ORIGINAL POST:
-- Emergency roadwork is blocking the right off-ramp from MD 201 North to I-95/the Outer Loop.

-- A disabled vehicle is blocking the right shoulder on I-495 North at Arlington Boulevard.

-- Construction on I-66 Eastbound at Dulles Toll Road/267 is blocking the center lane and right lane for a brief stretch.

-- And for anybody flying internationally, the volcanic ash over Europe is still wreaking havoc on flights and causing huge delays.
