I-395 North slow at King St

Here are some of the problems and headaches facing commuters this morning:

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic is moving surprisingly slowly on U.S. 50/New York Avenue heading westbound into the District from Maryland. Paarticularly on the stretch between Bladensburg and 295 just inside the District, according to the Post's Michael Bolden. And there are lane closures on New York Avenue eastbound. So if you're heading into the District from that side, try and avoid it by taking Benning Road.

8:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's still very heavy traffic on I-495 North at I-66.

-- And there are still delays on I-95 North/the Beltway at Telegraph Road.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A single car incident on I-495/Outer Loop past New Hampshire Avenue might cause delays for outer loop commuters.

-- No northbound traffic is getting by on MD 5 at Surratts Road, due to the earlier accident.

-- Heavy backups on I-495 North at I-66.

-- An accident on I-95 North/the Beltway at Telegraph Road might cause some delays.

-- Traffic is still very heavy on I-395 North at King Street.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on MD 5 North at Surratts Road could slow northbound traffic.

-- There's an accident on I-395 North at King Street blocking the right shoulder, but it could cause pretty bad delays on the already-slow roadway.

7:10 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-395 North at Duke Street has closed the right shoulder.

-- The accident on I-95 North in Lorton is now blocking the left shoulder.

-- The earlier lane closures on I-395 North have cleared up.

6:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-95 North in Lorton has closed the left lane and left shoulder.

-- An accident on I-395 North at King Street has closed the right center lane.

-- The earlier accident has been moved off of I-395 North at Glebe. But the disabled vehicle is still blocking the left lane and left shoulder.

6:20 A.M. UPDATE:

A lot of woes on I-395 North this morning. To whit:

-- On I-395 North after Duke Street, an accident has closed the right center lane and right shoulder.

-- The earlier accident on I-395 North after Glebe Road is still closing the left lane and left center lane.

-- There's also a disabled vehicle near that accident also blocking the left lane in a different place.

ORIGINAL POST:

-- An accident on I-395 North just after Glebe Road has closed the left lane, left center lane and left shoulder.

-- An accident on MD 212 has closed the roadway in both directions at Metzerott Road.
