I-495 North and I-395 North slow

Here's a roundup of issues facing commuters this morning:

9 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495 North at Route 123/Chain Bridge Road is blocking the right lane.

-- Backups remain heavy on I-495 North (leading to I-66) and I-395 North (at the 14th Street Bridge, among other spots on the roadway).

-- There's an accident on 295 Southbound at Benning Road in Northeast. There's also an accident on 295 Southbound at Suitland Parkway.

-- An accident on New York Avenue and Bladensburg Road in Northeast is blocking some traffic.

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's also police and fire activity on the 300 block of 33rd Street in Southeast, so avoid that area if you can.

-- Police and fire activity in the 2300 block of Lincoln Road in Northeast may have impacted traffic.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 South at Leesburg Pike is blocking the right shoulder.

8:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on I-495 South at Arlington Boulevard has blocked the right shoulder.

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Beltway right near the Springfield Interchange could cause delays in that area.

-- Traffic is very backed up on I-495 North heading towards I-66.

-- The situation on Vermont and Rhode Island avenues in Northwest is still ongoing, while the situation on 14th Street and Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast has been resolved.

-- Police and fire activity in the 4400 block of Hunt Place in Northeast is going to impact traffic around there, so avoid it if you can.

7:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There's an accident at 24th and L streets in Northwest.

-- There's also an accident on the 3900 block of New York Avenue in Northeast.

-- And the situations on Vermont and Rhode Island avenues in Northwest, plus 14th Street and Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast, are still ongoing, so both of those areas could see traffic impacted.

-- An accident on I-95 South/the Beltway at Telegraph Road could slow traffic as well.

-- Traffic on I-495 North at Arlington Boulevard has gotten worse, so expect delays there.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-95 North near the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

7:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle at Vermont and Rhode Island avenues in Northwest is slowing traffic there.

-- An accident on 14th Street and Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast could also slow traffic in that area.

-- The congestion is pretty bad on I-395 North, from the 14th Street Bridge and back for much of the roadway.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 North at Arlington Boulevard is blocking the right shoulder. In the same area, there's a stretch of bad congestion.

-- I-395 North remains blocked up at the 14th Street Bridge, King Street and Duke Street.

6:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Another slow spot on I-395 North: congestion at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 North just before the Springfield Interchange is blocking the right shoulder.

6:15 A.M. UPDATE:

Heavy traffic persists on I-395 North, at King Street and after Glebe Road.

ORIGINAL POST:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 North at Leesburg Pike is blocking the right shoulder.

-- If you avoided the Metro after yesterday's Yellow and Green Line delays followed after a person being hit by a train: regular service resumed yesterday afternoon, after delays and single-tracking followed the incident at the Mt. Vernon Square station.

-- There's already traffic on I-395 North at King Street.
