2:35 P.M. UPDATE: Airports authority officials have said it is all clear at Reagan National Airport.

Original post: Officials are investigating a suspicious package at Reagan National Airport. A portion of the B/C Terminal has been evacuated.

Rob Yingling, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Authority, said part of Reagan National Airport has been evacuated while officials investigate a "suspicious item" in the baggage claim area of the airport's terminal B/C.

"The airport is open and operating," he said. He said the evacuation began at about 1:30 p.m. and was in the area around the item. He said he did not know specifically what the item was or exactly where it was in the bag claim area.
