Howard County police are warning driver there may be traffic delays due to a funeral procession for a Montgomery County police officer killed in the line of duty.

Officer Hector Ayala, 31, was killed Apr. 4 when his police car ran off the road and struck a tree in Wheaton. He leaves behind a 14-month old son and a wife who is pregnant with triplets. A memorial fund has been established for the family.

The procession is expected to delay traffic from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Md. 97 north from the Howard County line to I-70 and on I-70 eastbound from Md. 97 to the Baltimore County line.
