A headache on Va.'s Orange Line
There won't be any Metro service between East Falls Church and West Falls Church stations Memorial Day weekend and the first two weekends in June due to construction on the Silver Line extension to Dulles. Metro will operate shuttles between the stations, but it will add to your travel time -- at least 30 minutes. Will this affect you? Had you planned to take Metro and then the Washington Flyer to get to Dulles? Let us know what you plan to do by sending an e-mail to transportation@washpost.com or posting a comment below.

Your use of "suck" in connection with that sort of event is one of the more amusing puns I've seen recently.

The Metro needs to close that section of track for construction, which will inevitably create a disruption, no matter what weekend it is. It's summer in DC--there's always something. Let's just let them get it done as quickly as possible so that we can get on with our lives.
Also, Washington Flyer should have already figured out how to temporarily move some of their pick-ups to East Falls Church during these weekends. If they haven't, well, too bad for them. Everyone can just take the 5A from Rosslyn.

At least East Falls Church has a (minimal) parking lot.

What does the weekend mean? Is that Saturday and Sunday or does that include Friday night?
Is it shut down on memorial day too?

That's going to suck the 2nd weekend in June with all the Capital Pride events taking place. Lucky for me, I get on the train in Arlington.
