Beltway crawling to I-66

8:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-66 East traffic leading to the Beltway has definitely abated; there's still gridlock, but it's not as bad.

-- An accident on MD 187 North at I-270 North is blocking the right northbound off-ramp.

-- An accident on I-95/Inner Loop at Ritchie Marlboro Road is blocking one Inner Loop lane, one Inner Loop shoulder and one Outer Loop shoulder.

-- An accident on MD 295 North at MD 193 East is blocking one northbound right off-ramp.

8:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-66 East before Nutley Street is blocking the right shoulder of this already-crowded stretch.

-- The backups on I-66 East leading to the Beltway have eased slightly, but it's still crowded.

-- I-495 North is just as crowded heading to I-66.

-- I-95 North/the Beltway is also very slow at Van Dorn Street.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic on I-66 East is incredibly backed up heading to the Beltway.

-- Traffic on I-495 North is incredibly backed up heading to I-66.

-- And I-395 North remains slow and sluggish.

7:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Adding to the delays on I-495 North leading up to Gallows Road, there is a disabled vehicle blocking the right shoulder on I-495 North at Gallows Road.

-- There's also bad, bad traffic building up on I-495 North leading to I-66.

-- I-66 East is still backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

-- I-395 North is also still backed up at Glebe Road back to Seminary Road.

7:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The ramp from MD 97 North to I-495 East/the Beltway has reopened.

-- I-495 North is backed up leading towards Gallows Road.

-- I-66 East is backed up at Chain Bridge Road and Sudley Road.

-- I-395 North is still backed up from Glebe Road back to Seminary Road.

-- The ramp is still blocked from MD 97 North to I-495 East.

-- I-66 East is very backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

-- I-395 North is backed up most of the way from Glebe Road back to Seminary Road.

-- The disabled vehicle on I-395 has been cleared.

-- An accident on I-495/Inner Loop, on the ramp to MD 97 North, could slow Inner Loop traffic.

There's a disabled vehicle in the reversible I-395 lane at Edsall Road. The north right shoulder is blocked, which could cause some delays.
