I-395 North slow after interchange
Here's a look at some of the commuting headaches facing folks this morning:
9 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The accident on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard has been cleared up.
-- But I-395 North is still sluggish and slow.
-- The left center lane is still blocked on I-495 North at Route 7.
-- An accident on I-495 North at Braddock Road is blocking the left shoulder.
8:40 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The accident on MD 295 has been cleared up.
-- But the accident on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard is still blocking traffic. The left center lane, left lane and left shoulder are all blocked, with traffic only getting by on the right side.
-- There's also an accident on I-495 North at Route 7/Leesburg Pike. The left center lane is blocked.
8:20 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The accident on MD 295 involved three vehicles, and it is blocking one northbound lane and one northbound shoulder.
-- An accident on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard is blocking the left lane and left shoulder.
-- There's a disabled vehicle blocking the right shoulder on I-395 South at Glebe Road.
-- I-495 North remains very backed up leading to I-66.
8:05 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-395 North is also slow at the 14th Street Bridge. And not to be a broken record, but it's congested for much of the roadway -- from the bridge back to the interchange -- so expect a slow trek if you're on that road.
-- An accident on MD 295 could cause delays for southbound traffic on the roadway at the Beltway.
-- An accident on I-95 North shortly before the Springfield Interchange is blocking the left shoulder.
-- I-66 East is very backed up at Nutley Street.
7:40 A.M. UPDATE:
A water main break on 7th Street in Southwest could cause some traffic headaches this morning. The 8-inch water main on 7th Street between C and D streets in Southwest is currently being repaired by D.C. Water and Sewer Authority crews. Some customers in the area might see a disruption in water service until the repairs have been completed.
7:30 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-395 North is still pretty backed up. It's slow after King Street, and the delays stretch on and off all the way back to the Springfield Interchange.
-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 South at Gallows Road is blocking the southbound right shoulder.
-- I-495 North is still very backed up heading towards I-66.
-- I-66 East is still very congested at Chain Bridge Road.7:10 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-395 North is still crawling after the Springfield Interchange. Residual traffic from the earlier accident and lane closures are slowing down northbound commuters.
-- I-495 North is also very slow heading to I-66.
6:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The lanes have reopened on I-395 North after King Street. While there are still residual delays and backups, traffic is moving again. But the traffic is slowed down badly after the Springfield Interchange, with cars at a crawl or not moving after Duke Street. Traffic begins to move again after Seminary Road.
-- I-66 East is backed up at Chain Bridge Road.
6:30 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The accident on I-395 North after King Street is still blocking the left center lane, right center lane, right lane and right shoulder. Traffic backups are getting worse and stretching towards the Springfield Interchange.
-- The Inner Loop accident has been cleared.
6:10 A.M. UPDATE:
-- On I-395 North, more lane closures. Now the left center lane, right center lane, right lane and right shoulder are all blocked. With traffic only getting by on the far left, congestion is building heading towards King Street and beyond.
-- The Inner Loop is still uncertain at Suitland Road.
-- An accident involving multiple vehicles on I-395 North after King Street is blocking the right center lane, right land and right shoulder. This is going to cause big buildups on this northbound artery.
-- An accident on I-95/Inner Loop at Suitland Road could cause delays.
