Manhole fire damages car at 9th & L
2:45 p.m. Update:The dcist blog has photos of the damage here.
The photos show a manhole cover, bricks and concrete all piled on the right of way and an SUV covered in brick dust and bricks.
Original post: D.C. Fire/EMS officials say a vehicle has been damaged by a manhole cover at the intersection of Ninth and L streets NW. There is an electrical fire, officials said, and Pepco has been requested to the scene.
D.C. Fire/EMS personnel are on the scene. Expect traffic delays in the area.
