Memorial Day Parade road closures
The annual National Memorial Day Parade is on Monday, May 31, along Constitution Avenue in Northwest. It will begin at 7th Street and end at 18th Street, after which the parade heading north on Virginia Avenue to disperse. The parade will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and close a great number of streets, so read on if you think this might impact your Monday:
Here's some info from the Metropolitan Police Department:
STREET CLOSURES:
-- Streets along the parade route will be closed to traffic beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Monday (and reopen when it is finished).
-- 7th Street NW between Constitution Avenue NW and Independence Avenue SW will be closed to traffic on Monday at 5 a.m.
PARKING RESTRICTIONS (Monday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.):
-- No parking on Monday along the parade route (Constitution Avenue NW, between 7th and 23rd streets NW).
-- No parking on Virginia Avenue NW between Constitution Avenue and 23rd Street.
