Northern Virginia driving delays

There are some delays already afoot in Northern Virginia this morning:

8:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- An accident on Rockville Pike/MD 355 Northbound before Jones Bridge Road was blocking all northbound lanes until just now. This is just outside the National Institute of Health in Bethesda. However, residual traffic backups will likely remain. So if you need to head north, avoid this area by taking Old Georgetown Pike or Connecticut Avenue instead.

-- An accident on I-495/Inner Loop at New Hampshire Avenue might slow Inner Loop traffic, so be prepared.

-- I-495 North is backed up at I-66.

-- I-66 East is backed up at Nutley Street.

-- I-395 North still remains a headache for commuters, with delays remaining along the roadway.

8:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-66 East is still backed up at Nutley Street.

-- I-395 North is still backed up at the 14th Street Bridge.

-- VRE delay update -- train 306 is making its way to the District and running behind.

7:45 A.M. UPDATE:

-- I-395 South is also facing potential delays due to two disabled vehicles blocking the southbound right shoulder (at Seminary Road and Glebe Road, respectively).

-- But I-395 North remains very troublesome and slow, with delays from the 14th Street Bridge stretching back into Virginia.

7:20 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There are some delays on the VRE -- trains 302, 304 and 326 are all slowed and running behind schedule.

-- I-66 East is very backed up at Nutley Street and Sudley Road.

-- I-495 North is very, very packed and slow leading to I-66.

-- An accident on I-495 South at I-66 is blocking the right shoulder, so that could cause additional delays in that area.

-- And I-395 North remains congested.

-- The MD 198 lanes have reopened.

6:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-95 South/the Beltway at Telegraph Road is blocking the right shoulder.

-- Traffic is still backed up on I-495 North at Gallows Road.

-- And I-395 North is still very slow in spots.

-- An accident on MD 198 East at Good Hope Road is blocking one eastbound lane and one eastbound shoulder.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic on I-395 North is bad, on and off, from the Springfield Interchange to the 14th Street Bridge. The entire roadway isn't backed up, but there are so many spots of delay and congestion that it seems that way. At the bridge, at Washington Boulevard, at Seminary Road, before Duke Street -- it's just a slow, congested trek.

-- I-66 East is very backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

6:05 A.M. UPDATE:

-- Traffic is slowing and getting backed up on I-95 North shortly before the Springfield Interchange.

-- There's also congestion on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard.

-- I-395 North is congested and slowing at Seminary Road.

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495 South at Gallows Road is blocking the right shoulder and causing potential delays.
