FX Co. Pkwy closed in Springfield

8:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The lanes on I-495/Outer Loop at the American Legion Bridge have reopened.

-- However, the accident appears to have backed up I-270 all the way to Shady Grove.

-- And another accident on I-495/Outer Loop, this one before Georgia Avenue, is blocking one shoulder and one Outer Loop lane.

-- I-395 North is very backed up heading to Glebe Road.

-- I-495 North remains very, very slow heading to I-66.

-- And the Fairfax County Parkway is still blocked southbound. Again, a detour has been set up from Route 640/Sydenstricker Road to right on Gambrill Road, left on Hooes Road, left on Squirrel Run Court and onto the Fairfax County Parkway.

8 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The accident on I-495/Outer Loop at the American Legion Bridge is blocking one merge lane and one Outer Loop lane.

-- The Fairfax County Parkway is still blocked southbound at Route 640. A detour has been set up from Route 640/Sydenstricker Road to right on Gambrill Road, left on Hooes Road, left on Squirrel Run Court and onto the Fairfax County Parkway.

-- I-495 North is horrendously backed up leading to I-66.

7:35 A.M. UPDATE:

-- There is now an accident on I-495/Outer Loop at the American Legion Bridge. Just the Outer Loop right merge lane is blocked.

-- I-395 North is still very backed up at Glebe Road.

-- I-66 East is also very jammed at Nutley Street.
7:15 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-495/Outer Loop at the American Legion Bridge is blocking one Outer Loop lane and one Outer Loop right merge lane.

-- I-66 East is still backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

-- I-495 North is backed up leading to I-66.

-- There are still delays on I-395 North leading to Glebe Road.

6:50 A.M. UPDATE:

-- The Fairfax County Parkway is still closed southbound at Sydenstricker Road/Route 640 in Springfield due to an accident.

-- I-66 East is backed up at Chain Bridge Road.

-- I-395 North is congested from Glebe Road on back.

-- The right lane and right shoulder of I-395 North are still blocked at Washington Boulevard.

6:30 A.M. UPDATE:

-- A disabled vehicle on I-395 North at Washington Boulevard is blocking the right lane and right shoulder.

-- I-95 North is very backed up as you head towards Lorton.

-- The southbound left shoulder of I-95/the Beltway at Telegraph Road is still blocked by an accident.

6:25 A.M. UPDATE:

A broken 12-inch water main on Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest between 19th and 21t streets could cause problems for morning commuters. The D.C. Water and Sewer Authority are repairing the main and began work last night at about 10:30 p.m. They expect repairs to be completed by about 4 p.m. today.

6:15 A.M. UPDATE:

An accident on the Fairfax County Parkway at the ramp to Sydenstricker Road/Route 640 has closed the southbound left lane, center lane and right lane. The southbound stretch of the Fairfax County Parkway in Springfield is entirely blocked, so drivers should consider alternate routes like Rolling Road and Lee Chapel Road.

ORIGINAL POST:

An accident on I-95 South/the Beltway at Telegraph Road in Alexandria is blocking the southbound left shoulder. This could cause delays as the roads become more crowded this morning.
