Rolling Thunder road closures

Part of Memorial Day Weekend in the nation's capital is the arrival of many, many motorcycles. The Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally will close several roads in the District on Sunday. Information after the jump.

The following roads will be closed beginning at 11:30 a.m. (to reopen at 3:30 p.m.):

-- Ohio Drive from Independence Avenue to Virginia Avenue.

-- Ohio Drive, ont he river, from the Inlet Bridge to Independence Avenue.

-- Independence Avenue from 1st Street SW to 23rd Street SW.

-- Constitution Avenue from Pennsylvania Avenue NW to 23rd Street NW.

-- 3rd, 4th, 7th, 12th, 14th, 15th 17th, and 23rd streets between Independence Avenue and Constitution Avenue. Also, one block north of Constitution Avenue and one block south of Independence Avenue at those streets.

-- Henry Bacon Drive and Daniel French Drive.

RELATED: 22nd Street NW will also be closed between Constitution Avenue and C Street NW (it closed Friday morning at 9 a.m. and will reopen Sunday at 5 p.m.).

Unfortunately, none of the press releases mention that Memorial Bridge, for the first time, was also closed to pedestrians desiring to view the parade. This closed the most impressive of the viewing area for Rolling Thunder, and did so without warning.
