I-66 East slow at Beltway
8:40 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-66 East is very slow at the Beltway and Chain Bridge Road.
-- I-395 North remains congested heading to Edsall Road and I-495 North remains sluggish heading to I-66.
8:15 A.M. UPDATE:
-- The accidents on Georgia Avenue (at the Beltway) and U.S. 50 (at U.S. 301) have both been cleared.
-- The delays are the same in Virginia -- I-495 North at I-66, I-66 eastbound at Chain Bridge Road, the initial stretch of I-395 North (leading to Edsall Road).
7:50 A.M. UPDATE:
-- An accident on Georgia Avenue southbound at the Beltway could seriously impede traffic in the area.
-- There was also an accident on U.S. 50 westbound at U.S. 301.
-- I-66 East is still jammed up at Chain Bridge Road.
-- I-495 North is still very slow leading to I-66.
-- And the early part of I-395 North remains sluggish.
7:25 A.M. UPDATE:
-- Same delays: I-495 North is slow heading to I-66, I-66 East is congested at Chain Bridge Road and I-395 North is very slow before Edsall Road.
7:05 A.M. UPDATE:
-- I-495 North is incredibly slow heading to I-66.
-- I-66 East is congested at Chain Bridge Road.
-- I-395 North remains clogged between the interchange and Edsall Road.
6:35 A.M. UPDATE:
I-395 North is very slow from the Springfield Interchange to Edsall Road.
ORIGINAL POST:
Outside of the District (where a water main break has blocked outbound New York Avenue), the roads are pretty quiet so far this morning. We will keep you posted as the morning rush hour kicks off and congestion kicks in.
