What's Your Fantasy?
Football season is almost here. While many of us are getting psyched to watch actual games, played by actual teams, some people just can't wait to demolish their coworkers and friends in fantasy leagues. In yesterday's Got Plans?, a reader wrote in with a draft-day query:
Alexandria, Va.: Our office fantasy football league is having a draft happy hour next Wednesday. Can you recommend any bars in the area with free wireless (bonus if any of them have extended specials, since we'll be there a while)?
Crystal City Sports Pub probably offers the best option closest to Alexandria. Yummy appetizers and free wireless are available here -- along with dozens of televisions for your viewing pleasure. Even though it's a massive establishment, the sports bar somehow manages to have a neighborhood-bar feel. Depending on how big your group is, bar staff recommends calling first to make a reservation.
Calling first is key at other sports bars around town as well. Ventnor Sports Cafe in Adams Morgan, Buffalo Billiards in Dupont and the Ugly Mug on Barracks Row all offer free wireless, but staffers recommend making a reservation for big groups and shooting for Monday and Tuesday nights. Specials vary from bar to bar, but "team owners" can expect the usual happy-hour deals.
So, now, you've just got to figure out which player to pick up first.

Our top picks would be:
CueBar at 11th and U (Shoot pool, play pingpong and toss back some beers with your free wireless);
The Tombs in Georgetown(go frat-boy with some real wings on draft day); and
The Ugly Mug on Capitol Hill (nothing says draft day like 24 beers on tap and mini-burgers).
Best,
