Raise a Glass to Vinoteca
Good news for oenophiles: Vinoteca has opened its doors on 11th Street NW, offering 68 different wines by the glass and a menu of cheese and charcuterie.
The "official" opening isn't until Nov. 5, but owner Paul Carlson says he and partner Diego Cerezo figured the place was ready, so they're serving customers today.

I met up with some friends this weekend at Vinoteca. We had a great time! Nice cheese selection and I had an enjoyable Malbec. You can order wine by full or half glass, as well as a tasting size.
The place was packed and the staff recommend you get reservations, especially for sit down service on the weekend.
Great addition to the U Street area! I'll be back!

I went there for their "soft opening" and it was okay. It had reservations only but still ran out of everything from glasses to food to wine and nothing was consistent. But I assume that's opening night jitters. Oh and for some reason it bugged me that I have the same mirror in my living room that's in the women's restroom at vinoteca. Like I was peeing in my living room... Anyway though, it's a nice addition (something different) to the neighborhood when they get it together!
