Got Plans? Redux: 50 first dates
It was another episode of "You be the guru" during yesterday's discussion. We asked you to tell us your favorite restaurants for first dates in order to win tickets to Capital Food Fight. We got dozens of great responses and I've posted nearly all of them in this handy Go Out List. It has more than 50 recommendations for date-worthy restaurants and bars, and it includes a bunch that didn't get posted in yesterday's chat.
The thing that struck me was how many of you recommended restaurants on the casual side. That's very cool to see. As one of the people who answers these questions week in, week out, I've always struggled with the fact that D.C. doesn't have that many places that have entrees under $20 and a slightly more upscale "datey" vibe. I don't want to send first daters to Corduroy or Bourbon Steak or something equally pricey, but I also don't want to keep turning folks to my go-tos Cork, Rice or 1905. It was pretty cool to see how many of you thought Comet Ping Pong was just as good a date spot as Zaytinya.
Love 'em? Hate 'em? Debate 'em in the comments below.
We also talked about Halloween, walking tours and where to watch the World Series. Read the full transcript here and check us out next week.
