Two great shows for the price of none

By Stephanie Merry

After dropping by Russia House for a drink with us tonight, make a beeline for Flashpoint for a mix of entertaining art and theater.

Kenny George's "Pacguy" bursts onto the scene tonight. (Kenny George)

First up, Kenny George's exhibition "Pacguy" opens tonight with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The pop culture-inspired work includes an arcade game, slot machines and, most intriguing, a pogo-stick video game designed for Wii.

The opening features free games and munchies, but if that's not enough of a deal, those who take in the art opening also get into Solas Nua's "Disco Pigs" for free at 8:30 p.m. The show, taking place in Flashpoint's Mead Theatre Lab, follows a pair of Irish teens with an unhealthy relationship. Solas Nua produced the well-received show off-Broadway last year, and now happily, the company is bringing the show home for another run.
