Got Plans? redux: New Year's Eve and a long weekend

By Anne Kenderdine

Surprise, surprise: chatters in today's Got Plans? discussion mostly wanted to talk about how to spend New Year's Eve. But we also ended up tossing around ideas for entertaining visitors over this long weekend -- Terra Cotta Warriors, which is sold out through Jan. 3, was a popular topic -- options for bowl games and brunch and where to find Fat Tire beer. Read the transcript to get the whole flavor.

Have any more ideas for where to take your visitors this weekend or to celebrate the final week of holiday decorations? Add your ideas in the comments.

We'll be back to our regular Thursday discussion time in the new year. Submit your questions for next week anytime; we'll look forward to chatting with you on Jan. 7.

I wanted to correct something said in yesterday's transcript. Having just visited the New Belgium brewery (Fat Tire) a few days ago, I found out they do in fact ship east of the Mississippi now. Unfortunately, their brew isn't available in the DC area but you can buy it in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. Maybe someday soon it will be in our own backyard but until then, N.C. is the closest option.
