Hot tickets

Anytime you ride shotgun with Jay-Z on one of the year's biggest singles, as Alicia Keys did with 2009's inescapable "Empire State of Mind," it's safe to say you're riding high. Keys comes to the Verizon Center March 25 to remind everyone why she's one of pop music's biggest stars.

Here's a list of the other shows you can snag tickets to this week:

Tickets go on Thursday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly or 877-435-9849 for these shows at the 9:30 club:
Anviland Misstallica, March 20 ($20)
Miike Snow, Delorean, March 24 ($20).

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly or 877-435-9849 for Ben Folds and a Piano at the 9:30 club, March 26 ($40).

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for these shows at the Birchmere:
Jonathan Butler, March 23 ($39.50);
Robert Earl Keen with South Memphis String Band, March 31 ($35);
Swing Out Sister, April 19 ($35);
Shawn Colvin with Rachael Sage, May 7 ($45).

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Alicia Keys, March 25 at Verizon Center ($49.50-$128).

Tickets go on sale Sunday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey: Zing Zang Zoom, March 18-21 at the Verizon Center ($7-$110); March 25-April 4 at the Patriot Center ($14-$110); and April 7-18 at Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena ($14-$75).

Free tickets will be available beginning Wednesday (Feb. 10) at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Voces Intimae, March 26 at the Library of Congress.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for "Lord of the Dance," April 25 at the Warner Theatre ($35-$65).

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation for Widespread Panic, April 20-21 at the Warner Theatre ($44).

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. through Montpelier Arts Center for the Montpelier Folk and Blues Series ($20) and Montpelier Spring Jazz Series ($20). 301-377-7800.
