Hot tickets

Attention Parrotheads: Jimmy Buffett comes to Jiffy Lube Live Sept. 2 and 4. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. (Kevin Clark - The Washington Post)

There's no surer sign that warm weather is around the corner than the announcement of Jimmy Buffett's summer swing through the Washington area. You'll have to wait a while for this one, though: the Mayor of Margaritaville plays Jiffy Lube Live on Sept. 2 and 4. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation ($36-$136).

Here's a list of the other shows you can snag tickets for in the week ahead:

Tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly or 877-435-9849 for the following shows at the 9:30 club:
Nada Surf, Dawn Landes and the Hounds, April 2 ($20)
Wale, K'NAAN and John Forté, April 4 ($27.50)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Alberta Cross and the Cobbs, April 5 ($20)
The Temper Trap, Florence and the Machine and the Kissaway Trail, April 6 ($20)
King Sunny Adé, April 7 ($25).

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for these shows at DAR Constitution Hall:
Mo'nique, March 20 ($39.50-$59.50)
Phoenix, April 26 ($38.50).

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for these shows at the Birchmere:
Anuhea and the Green, March 29 ($25)
Vivian Green, April 5 ($35)
Raul Malo, April 21 ($25)
The Gentlemen of Jazz featuring Paul Taylor, Marion Meadows and Michael Lington, April 25 ($39.50)
Shelby Lynne, May 11 ($25)
Roomful of Blues and Janiva Magness, May 12 ($25)
Bill Kirchen and the Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods, Maryann Price and the Trio Del Rio, July 3 ($25).

Free tickets will be available beginning Monday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Pejvak Ensemble, March 7 at the Freer Gallery.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at noon through Ticketmaster for Swing Out Sister, April 19 at Birchmere ($35).

Free tickets will be available Wednesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Juilliard String Quartet, April 9 at the Library of Congress. 202-397-7328.

Sorry to not follow the corporate sponsorships, but what is Jiffy Lube Live? A viewing of an oil change?

The place is called Nissan Pavilion, and pretty much anyone that goes there calls it that.
