Free jazz at the Smithsonian
Is it too early in the season for happy-hour jazz al fresco? Not if the location in question happens to be the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Kogod Courtyard. The courtyard's undulating glass lattice ceiling, which allows a view of the sky, can make you feel like you're outdoors.
On Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., stop by for Take Five!, a free concert of live jazz that takes place every third Thursday of the month. Enjoy a snack and a drink from the Courtyard Cafe, or borrow a board game from the museum's lending library, and chill to the sounds of vocalist L'Tanya Mari'.
