The Gurus go green
The word around our desks here is that Thursday's Going Out Guide happy hour at Ireland's Four Fields is going to be the best one ever. That's setting expectations pretty high, sure, but here's why we're saying so. We have so many deals and freebies lined up, we think our early St. Patrick's Day celebration rivals any that you'll find on March 17.
Consider this:
No cover.
Free mini-burgers, spinach dip, fresh veggies, potato skins and smoked salmon with brown bread (while it lasts).
Free whiskey tasting.
$4 Guinness and Smithwick pints and rail drinks.
A chance to win tons of prizes, including two $50 gift certificates to Ireland's Four Fields, three pairs of tickets to ShamrockFest this Saturday and one pair of tickets to "Little Shop of Horrors" at Ford's Theatre on March 19.
On top of that, there'll be Irish dancers, live Celtic rock music from the band 40 Thieves and when you buy a Guinness, you can learn the expert way to pour it. Oh, and the bar's also offering $12 pitchers of Land Shark, Shocktop Belgium Wheat, Rolling Rock, Fordham Lager, Bud, Bud Light, Starr Hill IPA and Old Dominion Spring Buck.
So bring your friends! We'll look forward to chatting with you tomorrow -- both online and in person.
