Jete Society happy hour
The Washington Ballet's next season doesn't begin until November with "Romeo and Juliet," but you can still get your dose of ballerinas. The Jete Society -- a group of 21- to 45-year-old supporters of the Washington Ballet -- is hosting a happy hour at Sofitel Thursday, and you don't have to be a member to enjoy the food and drink specials. The hotel will also have a special cocktail for the event, and if you go to the Washington Ballet's Web site and enter the "Name the Cocktail Contest," you could get your beverage free. And the more you eat and drink, the more someone will dance. Proceeds from the event go toward the Jete Society scholarship, which will be awarded to one Washington School of Ballet student.
