'Legends' opens at Studio Theatre
The ever-feisty Lypsinka is returning to Studio Theatre, and this time she's going to take part in a good old-fashioned cat fight. John Epperson's diva alter ego will take center stage in a drag adaptation of the 1986 play "Legends," which originally starred Carol Channing and Mary Martin. The story follows a couple of aging starlets out to prove they aren't has-beens by fighting (and sashaying) it out for a film role. Epperson will be joined by James Lecesne, who wrote the award-winning one-man play "Word of Mouth," and Shakespeare Theatre Company fixture Tom Story. And to sweeten the deal, Studio will offer a pay-what-you-can performance Saturday afternoon.
