July mixtape: The Unthanks, the Love Language, Iron Maiden and more

By David Malitz

There are plenty of reasons to head outside this month, whether it's for new wave icons the B-52s, metal heroes Iron Maiden or the day-long Warped Tour, featuring math-punk weirdos Dillinger Escape Plan. But don't forget the great indoors, too. Former New York Dolls frontman David Johansen will draw from his diverse back catalogue at Jammin' Java, trumpet star Terence Blanchard takes up residence at Blues Alley for four nights and Memphis youngsters the Magic Kids build their buzz at Rock & Roll Hotel.

For a complete list of this month's picks, check out the July Mixtape best bets list. After the jump, listen to streaming tracks from many of this month's featured artists.
