Affordable plays coming to a theater near you
August and September aren't generally known for being eventful months in the theater universe, but the weeks ahead promise an explosion of affordable options for seeing some especially exciting plays. The diverse offerings include everything from free picnic-friendly productions of outdoor Shakespeare to Woolly Mammoth's edgy season opener and the Kennedy Center's annual Page-to-Stage Festival to an open rehearsal featuring a four-time Oscar nominee.
