Getting Up Guide: Scissor Sisters and Beer Week

By Stephanie Merry

What are your plans tonight? The Getting Up Guide is here to help you answer that question. Here's what's happening on Monday:

Scissor Sisters
Here comes the ever-entertaining band behind "Laura" and "Take Your Mama." If any group can turn a concert in the staid confines of DAR Constitution Hall into a europhic dance party, it's these disco champs.

In the Next Room, Or the Vibrator Play
Woolly Mammoth starts its season with this highly-anticipated Pulitzer Prize finalist by Sarah Ruhl about women who are treated for "hysteria" in a most unorthodox way. Pay what you can tonight and Tuesday. Bonus tip: Tickets are sold at 6:30, but lines generally begin forming around 5.

Victory Brewing Night
Victory Brewing Company has become pretty well known in D.C. bars, thanks to the popularity of Prima Pils and Hop Devil IPA. But unless you've ever been to Victory's Downingtown, Penn., brewery and brewpub, you probably haven't tried Gassy Jack Bitter or Mad King Weiss. This is your chance: Room 11 will serve both on Monday the 23rd from 5 p.m. until the kegs run out. After the Victory beers finish, Room 11 will be offering special guest taps all week.
