Fire at the Phillips Collection
The news that broke on DCist this morning is sad but true. There was a fire at the Phillips Collection; the museum has issued a statement and here's the latest:
-- The fire started on the roof of the Phillips House and was related to renovations.
-- The fire has been extinguished and no one was injured.
-- All art is safe and secure and nothing incurred significant damage. No word on how extensive the damage to the building is.
-- The museum is closed until further notice and tonight's Phillips after 5 has been postponed.
UPDATE: Visit the Crime Scene blog for a statement from the fire department.
