Getting Up Guide: Maison; No Age and Superchunk
What are your plans tonight? The Getting Up Guide is here to help you answer that question. Here's what's happening Friday:
Maison
If you don't have tickets to Euro Night at La Maison Francaise, here's the next best thing: DJs Shea Van Horn and TMY indulge their Francophile sensibilities atop the Donovan House Hotel, spinning at a poolside evening of French music -- pop, indie, electro and house -- with a great crowd and no cover charge. 8 p.m.
Superchunk
These '90s indie-rock icons return from a long recording absence with the triumphant "Majesty Shredding," an album full of anthems that may be the band's best yet. With Tommy Keene and Let's Wrestle. They're at the 9:30 Club at 8 p.m.
No Age
After making themselves known to the indie-rockosphere with 2008's "Nouns," Los Angeles's premier noisy-punk band showcases its best songwriting without losing its experimental edge on its new album, "Everything in Between." Catch the Sub Pop-signees at the Black Cat with Holy [Expletive] and Trophy Wife. 9 p.m.
