With tonight's High Heel Race, Halloween is here
Want to see this man run? Tonight's your night. (Richard A. Lipski/TWP)
Remember, folks, tonight marks the annual rite of fall that is17th Street's High Heel Race. The costumed dash doesn't start until 9 p.m. at 17th and Church streets NW, but if you're heading to the area for the impromptu costume party, you'll want to arrive plenty early for the people-watching -- those sidewalks can get mighty crowded as early as 7 p.m.
Not sure what to expect from the race? Well, lots of folks in drag, for starters. It's probably better if we let this video from 2008 or photos from last year speak for us. Keep your eyes open for a mid-term Adrian Fenty! Ah, the memories.
If you're taking photos tonight or you have great ones from past years, share them here.
Now that the Halloween season is officially upon us, check out our best bets for costume contests, highbrow happenings and kid-friendly options to take you through the 31st.
