First listen: Casper Bangs, "I Woke Up"

By David Malitz

Rob Pierangeli's debut album as Casper Bangs is an accomplished collection of indie-pop. (Shervin Lainez)

When Casper Bangs debuted a year and a half ago it certainly didn't seem like a band that was just getting started. Frontman Rob Pierangeli (formerly of local favorites the Hard Tomorrows) had a clear vision of what he wanted his new band to sound like and achieved it right away -- indie-pop that was chiming, driving, almost always bittersweet and certainly always catchy. This aesthetic was captured on the band's full-length debut, "I Woke Up."

You can read more about the album in tomorrow's Weekend section and you can buy it at the album-release show Saturday night at the Black Cat. But for now you can stream the entire album below, or download here.
