Getting Up Guide: Caps vs. Islanders, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony
What are your plans tonight? The Getting Up Guide is here to help you answer that question. Here's what's happening Wednesday:
Washington Capitals vs. New York Islanders
D.C.'s hockey heroes take to the Verizon Center ice for their third home game of the season at 7 p.m. The opponent: the rebuilding New York Islanders. If you want to see Ovechkin and the boys put up some goals, this could be an excellent opportunity.
Go-Go: Not an Intro
New to the area? The D.C. Music Salon's "Go-Go: Not an Intro" seminar should be mandatory for anyone interested in finding Washington's true cultural soul. Go-go scholar Kip Lornell discusses "The Beat: Go-Go's Fusion of Funk and Hip-Hop," and clips of the cult-favorite go-go film "Good to Go" will familiarize newbies with the sounds of Trouble Funk and Chuck Brown from 7 to 9 p.m.
Bone Thugs-n-Harmony
Krayzie, Layzie, Bizzy, Wish and Flesh-n, the '90s hip-hop scions who gave the world instantly-recognizable jams like ""First of tha Month" and "The Crossroads," bring their rapid-fire, tongue-twisting rhymes to the 9:30 Club for a 10 p.m. late show.
