Man fatally beaten outside DC9

By Alex Baldinger

Last night at DC9, a man was beaten to death after allegedly hurling a brick through the window. Our colleagues on the PostLocal blog say five people have been arrested.

The popular bar and rock club located at the corner of Ninth and U streets NW is known for booking on-the-rise bands, DJs and dance parties in its upstairs performance space. The club was scheduled to host a performance by the bands Agnostic Front, Mother of Mercy, Product of Waste and Alpha & Omega last night. The band My Dear Disco is currently scheduled to perform tonight; we'll keep you updated if that changes.

Update 12:50 p.m.: Friday and Saturday shows at DC9 have been canceled, and shows from Sunday on are now moved to Rock and Roll Hotel.
