National Press Club Book Fair and Authors' Night
A D.C. heavy lineup of authors-from political journalists to novelists to chefs-discuss and sign their work. Scheduled participants include reporters Jules Witcover, Mark Halperin and Scott Simon; chefs Spike Mendelsohn and Geoff Tracy; and fiction writers Robert Hellenga, Debbie Macomber and poet Nikki Giovanni.
Mickey Mantle: America Incarnate
Calling all New York Yankee fans: Historian Jane Leavy, author of "The Last Boy: Mickey Mantle and the End of America's Childhood," along with former Major League Baseball player Jim Bouton, former New York Yankee Phil Linz, Washington Senators legend Frank Howard and RFK Stadium announcer Phil Hochberg discuss Mickey Mantle, one of the first athletic superstars of the television age, at 7 p.m.
