Baby, it's cold outside: best hot chocolate, fireplaces, more

By Lavanya Ramanathan

If you can be roused from your Snuggie, you know that 30-degree days have their charms. The air is brisk, the holidays somehow feel more spirited, and we all get a major jones for comfort food and cozy bars.

At ACKC, hot chocolate gets glamorous: try the dark chocolate in the "Audrey Hepburn."(James M. Thresher/For The Post)

In honor of the cold weather, we're reprising our Best Bets list for bars with beckoning fireplaces (Tabard Inn, here we come!) and pointing you to the hands-down best soul-warming comfort food: grilled cheese. And, as long as we're calorie-loading, we've also updated our annual wintry ode to Washington's high-end hot cocoas.

Once you're adequately warmed up, get out: Check out our lists of the best winter-time traditions, places to get your shop on and ice rinks worth a skate.
