Hot dogs: so hot right now

The Chicago 7 at DC-3 (Photo by Matchbox Food Group)
Earlier this week the City Paper published a lengthy look at the city's emerging hot dog trend and analyzed the options at U Street Music Hall, the Passenger, Ben's and the Vienna Inn, along with two new entrants in the wiener game, Chidogo's and DC-3, which I reviewed for today's Weekend section.
To add to Scott Reitz's excellent work (I totally agree with his assessment of the superiority of the DC-3 product), I urge you hot dog devotees to check out the excellent Chicago-style dog made by Windy City Red Hots in Leesburg. Not only does it use fresh ingredients (crucial to a good Chicago red hot), but it serves good beer.
It's just one of our picks on our Best Bets list for hot dogs.
